{"id":24612,"date":"2018-03-30T14:28:54","date_gmt":"2018-03-30T13:28:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eqmusicblog.com\/?p=24612"},"modified":"2018-03-30T14:29:53","modified_gmt":"2018-03-30T13:29:53","slug":"cub-sport-interview","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eqmusicblog.com\/cub-sport-interview\/","title":{"rendered":"Cub Sport Interview"},"content":{"rendered":"<span class=\"cb-itemprop\" itemprop=\"reviewBody\"><p>One of our favorite new bands is hailing from Brisbane is most certainly <strong>Cub Sport<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>Their unique sound of blending electronic pop with traditional organ\/gospel elements on their latest album <strong>&#8220;Bats&#8221;<\/strong> had me intrigued and transfixed for months from the very first moment I heard seminal track <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=wGHUXd177oc\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>&#8220;O Lord&#8221;<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/cWPhsD4Rhoc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; encrypted-media\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The band are currently on the road playing out <strong>&#8220;Bats&#8221; <\/strong>to sold-out audiences across the globe and they will hit North London on <strong>May 9th<\/strong> for a special show at <strong>The Waiting Room<\/strong> &#8211; a gig I&#8217;ve had in my diary for quite a long time. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Cub Sport<\/strong> were in London late January and I got a chance to catch up with <strong>Tim Nelson<\/strong> and <strong>Sam Netterfield<\/strong> to talk about all things <strong>&#8220;Bats&#8221;<\/strong> including their singles <a href=\"https:\/\/eqmusicblog.com\/watch-chasin-cub-sport\/\"><strong>&#8220;Chasin&#8221;<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/eqmusicblog.com\/watch-good-guys-go-cub-sport\/\"><strong>&#8220;Good Guys Go&#8221;<\/strong><\/a>, why supporting gay marriage in Australia is important to them and what the meaning is behind their track <strong>&#8220;Hawaiian Party&#8221;<\/strong> &#8211; something I&#8217;ve been dying to know about for quite some time. <\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/7---BPBi8SE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; encrypted-media\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Honestly, everything about <strong>Cub Sport<\/strong> has a certain innocent and warm glow to it. The lush sounds and the unmistakeably affection and love between real-life partners Tim and Sam just feels overwhelmingly honest, pure-hearted and true. Cub Sport&#8217;s music brand creates a feeling of euphoria that envelops you when you listen to &#8220;Bats&#8221; for the first time.
