I felt so strongly about the band and their powerful anthems that I decided to bite the bullet and enjoy pop with a rockier edge for a bit. Orem, Utah four-piece, <strong>The Aces<\/strong>, fall into the same category as <strong>Muna<\/strong> and <strong>Haim<\/strong>. They have an obvious pop flair, yet don&#8217;t exactly, tick all of the electronic-pop boxes. I have learned to never say never about anybody because opinions can change about an artist or a band on a track by track basis. I thought I would give The Aces new track &#8220;<strong>Daydream<\/strong>&#8221; a chance and have ended up in pop love with the band. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Aces music falls within the brackets of indie-pop and rock, or so I thought. &#8220;<strong>Daydream<\/strong>&#8221; has introduced me to a hazier, breezier styling from the band. Anyways, lead singer <strong>Cristal Ramirez<\/strong> doesn&#8217;t really have what I would consider being a rock-star voice. This track successfully blurs the lines between indie, rock and pop and a lot of its catchy allure comes down to Ramirez&#8217;s confident and charismatic vocals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<a href=\"https:\/\/geo.music.apple.com\/gb\/album\/daydream-single\/1498389435?app=itunes\" style=\"display:inline-block;overflow:hidden;background:url(https:\/\/linkmaker.itunes.apple.com\/en-us\/badge-lrg.svg?releaseDate=2020-03-04T00:00:00Z&amp;kind=album&amp;bubble=itunes_music) no-repeat;width:140px;height:41px;\"><\/a>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/embed\/album\/1FsnruavnbrVGEesSSiKEE\" width=\"700\" height=\"100\" frameborder=\"0\" allowtransparency=\"true\" allow=\"encrypted-media\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-style-large is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p> \u201cWe want our fans to feel submerged in this music and walk away feeling closer to us than ever,\u201d says the band. \u201c\u2018<strong>Daydream<\/strong>\u2019 is about what it\u2019s like to be away from a loved one. When we\u2019re on tour, we\u2019re leaving a love note and memento saying,&nbsp;<em>\u2018<\/em>I\u2019m thinking of you, so daydream about me.<em>\u2019<\/em>&#8221;&nbsp; <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>We won&#8217;t ever catch The Aces being too mainstream commercial, but it is nice that going into their sophomore chapter, the pop sensibilities, are becoming bolder and brighter. This style still affords their lyrics to be punchy and relatable. Authentic and honest. The softer approach allows their harmonies to grow and become more visible. For their debut effort &#8220;<strong>When My Heart Felt Volcanic<\/strong>&#8221; The Aces covered some significant ground. It helped us to understand that they have the foresight of avoiding all the usual clich\u00e9s.
