I almost did not bother to tune in to the Hottest Record In The World<\/strong> premiere of “Beg For You<\/strong>“. On the Radio One show “Future Sounds<\/strong>” with Clara Amfo<\/strong> last night. As from the teaser clips shared online in advance of the premiere. I already believed the track was a dancefloor banger. The first sneak-peek came via a cheeky leak from Charli with a snippet of the track<\/a><\/strong>. On the same day “New Shapes<\/a><\/strong>” (the previous, single release) came out in November. However, I do love the adrenaline-fueled buzz of a premiere. So eventually ended up listening to the much anticipated Charli XCX<\/strong> and Rina Sawayama<\/strong> collaboration as it received its first play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What’s true of Charli’s ‘Angel’s’ fandom is that they know what works for her. They were craving this collaboration with Rina Sawayama for quite some time. I think this more a case of when, not, if it the collaboration would happen. Choosing the seminal track “Cry For You<\/a><\/strong>” from September<\/strong> (Petra Marklund<\/strong>) as a sample was an inspired choice. The song is so iconic and recognisable that most updates on it will never do it justice.
