With his latest release, I think Rhian! <\/a><\/strong>has the right idea. It is not uncommon for music artists to pay homage to their musical influences and inspirations. For Rhian!, a huge influence on his sound and style pivots right back to the queer disco trailblazer Sylvester<\/strong>, most notably renowned for his timeless 1978 hit \u201cYou Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)<\/strong>.\u201d Similarly, Rhian! covers this iconic disco anthem in most of his live sets. Therefore, he might easily have chosen to record the track with his own hot take. As tempting as that idea is, I love it even more that he decided to cover another of Sylvester’s disco classics, “I Need Somebody To Love Tonight<\/strong>.” His choice not only showcases his deep appreciation for Sylvester’s music but also allows him to reinterpret and breathe new life into a song that resonates with so many, reflecting both nostalgia and contemporary flair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
